ANNOUNCING A BRAND NEW COURSE!!

'ENGINEERING AND PRODUCTION IN PRACTICE'
(Supported by Creative Scotland)
A long term ambition of Chem19's has been to write and deliver a high quality engineering course to keen young amateur engineers/producers who need that bit more experience in an actual professional working studio. With the support of Creative Scotland's YMI Fund we are very excited to have been granted the opportunity to do just that. We are busy writing the course at the moment and hope to be offering it from late summer/autumn of 2011. It will be open to young people of ages 18-25 who are resident in Scotland and who have some experience in the discipline and may have even already completed a year or two studying the field at college or university. There is a £50 fee for the course payable up front, which we hope offers great value for over 70 hours worth tuition in our studio.
Places are limited to 12 in the first year so please if interested apply as soon as you can. We will be repeating the course in 2012. For more information on the course and how to apply please download this document:
Applications for 2011 are now closed. The next round of applications will be invited in the summer of 2012.
2011 CHEM19 DEMO FUND
(Supported by Creative Scotland)
We are delighted to be once again involved with another Creative Scotland Demo Fund, to be delivered this autumn. 5 artists up to the age of 25 will be awarded the opportunity to come in to record a demo over 3 days at no charge. To be eligible, the artist and/or its members must be 25 years or under, resident in Scotland, have not recorded professionally more than once, have no professional management or touring agent and have never performed at an international showcase event. Following completion of the demos all 5 successful applicants will also be invited to play a Chem19 Demo Fund Showcase at a venue in Glasgow.
To apply please email us with a link to any demos you may have recorded in the past and a little information and background on the artist. Applications for 2011 are now closed.

Studio 2 Audient Zen upgrade...
In mid October of last year we excitedly took delivery of a brand new, and rather impressive Audient Zen analogue mixing console for use in conjunction with Studio 2's existing Pro Tools HD set up. This desk affords us hugely increased flexibility in Studio 2 with both recording and mixing and what with its moving fader automation and all round high quality build we're really delighted with how it will improve how much the space has to offer. We can also happily tell you that the price of £20 + VAT per hour for Studio 2 remains unchanged.
